PhD research topic
Distribution and community composition of high altitude amphibians: Conservation implications for Sikkim, Eastern Himalayas
Supervisor: G. Ravikanth, Fellow, ATREE

Research interest
Born and brought up in Darjeeling, a small hill station in the Himalayas, the mountainous landscapes have always inspired and fed the curiosity within me. My interests lie in understanding mountain ecosystems including the ethnic inhabitants of these areas. Presently I am working on community composition and distribution pattern of high altitude amphibians in Sikkim as well as mapping the distribution of amphibians in the broader Eastern Himalayas. In addition to the ecological aspects, I am working on understanding the local practices of ethnic tribal groups in Sikkim with respect to their use of amphibians.
