Positions: Research Associates and Project Associate (Job Code: NEBR-2018-04-25_13-01)

ATREE invites applications for one Research Associate and one Project Associate for a project ‘Enhancing Capacity in Communication about biological resources, biodiversity science and sustainable development for societal benefit in Northeast’ – a Component of the research program ‘Bioresources and Sustainable Livelihoods of Northeast India’. The project is funded by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, New Delhi. The multi-partnership research project covers biosystematic & ecology studies of flowering and non-flowering plants, selected animal groups and documenting biological resources across the states of NE region that harbour two global hotspots of biodiversity.

1.Research Associate (one)
Essential qualifications: Ph.D. in any branch of Life science with good oral and written communication and Public relations skills.

Emoluments: Rs. 38,000/- + 30% HRA for all three years, as per DST guidelines
Responsibilities: The Research Associate will be responsible for organizing workshops and training programs related to biodiversity, biological resources and sustainable development. Research Associate is expected to assist the Coordinator in implementing the objectives of the project, compile and write progress reports, participate in review meetings and prepare articles for peer-reviewed journals and reach-out to society through various media including Social Media (FB and Twitter) and Indian Bioresource Information Network (IBIN), DBT web portal. The candidates should be self-driven, highly motivated and willing to undertake extensive interaction with the Project Staff, Govt. agencies, public etc. Candidate should be willing to take up extensive travel in Northeast India.
Project Associate (one)

Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. in any branch of Life science with
a) good oral and written skills as well as good organization skills
b) computer skills including databases and web portals

Emoluments: Rs. 28,000/- + 30% HRA for all three years, as per DST guidelines

Duration of appointment: The position is for a period of three years (to be confirmed after the three month probation period).
