Positions: Research Associates and Project Assistant (Computer) (Job Code: NEBR-2018-04-18_12-09)

ATREE invites applications for one Research Associate (RA), one Project Assistant (Computer) for a Research Project ‘Organization and Management of a Central Database and diversity analysis of grid-based transect data of biodiversity and biological resources in NE India Region. The project is funded by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, New Delhi. The multi-partnership research project covers biosystematic & ecology studies of flowering and non-flowering plants, selected animal groups and documenting biological resources across the states of NE region that harbour two global hotspots of biodiversity.

Project Research staff are expected to curate and analyse the data of plant and animal collections, mapping their distribution patterns, write reports and prepare articles for peer-reviewed journals and reach-out to society through various media including Indian Bioresource Information Network (IBIN), DBT web portal. We strongly encourage applicants from Northeast region of India. The candidates should be self-driven, highly motivated and willing to undertake extensive fieldwork in remote field sites in the entire Northeast region.

Research Position: Research Associate (one)
Emoluments: Rs. 38,000/- + 30% HRA for all three years, strictly as per DST guidelines*

Essential qualifications :
Research Associate - A PhD degree in Botany, Forestry, Conservation Biology, Ecology / Environmental Science; Experience with computational skills in Community Ecology

Research Position: Project Assistant (Computer –one)
Emoluments: Rs. 25,000/- per month fixed, strictly as per DST guidelines*

Essential Qualifications:
M.Sc.; B.Tech./B.E.; B.Tech./B.E. with M.Tech. or M.Sc.
Strong aptitude in using computer software such as R and programming to analyse the data related to plant and animal community ecology, biological resources; Using GIS software related to spatial data
